Instead of sewing something today for the Kids Clothing Week Challenge, I decided to just embellish.  That’s actually a very dangerous word.  Too often people go overboard with embellishing.  That said, I hope you don’t think these are too much.

A little tiger shirt for my son.  I borrowed the graphic from his school – they’re the Bengal Tigers.  I used freezer paper for this.  Too simple.  Now he has a fun new school shirt.

Something Simple

For my daughter, a sparkly lady bug.  This one I just sketched a design right onto the freezer paper and cut it out.  I did an undercoat of red fabric paint (just in case the glitter all came off) and then used soft fabric glue and fashion glitter (then finally removed the freezer paper).  I’ve never used the fabric glitter before.  Anyone have any experience?

Something Simple

Tomorrow I tackle a pair of pants that need upscaling into (smaller) pants and a hat for my son.

  1. Hello, I am intrigued by the freezer paper technique. Do you paint over the design and the paint goes through the paper? I looked at the other posts about it but I must be more visual than I realized. I think it is such a good idea for gifts. Can you tell me a little more how this is done?

    Thank you.
