I love the summery feel to this quilt.  I am a huge fan of Heather Ross and I love the detail in her latest fabric line, Briar Rose (for Windham Fabrics).  I’m sure there isn’t a quilter or sewer around who hasn’t seen this fabric.

This quilt was made using my quilt pattern “Diamond Affair“.  You can read more about the pattern in this blog post and you can get it in my Craftsy and Etsy shops.

I love the details on these fabrics.  They really make this quilt interesting.  My kids enjoy looking for all the little critters.

The green solid used in this quilt top is KONA chartreuse.  It’s a bit bright, but I love how it adds to the light colors of the prints.  The binding (which I neglected to get a close-up of) is a lovely pin-dot in a creamy yellow.

My kids wanted to help hold the quilt too.  They stood on a park bench for this picture (shown below).  Look at those cute little hands at the top!

They quickly took a break from their hard work to swing together.

The back of the quilt was pieced from yardage I had lying around.

The green is the same as the top (KONA chartreuse).  The grey herringbone is Cloud 9 (House & Garden).  The floral paisley is Riley Blake (Bloom & Grow by Mind’s Eye) and the orange/white print is Bella in Orange, Windham Fabrics.

I did really simple diagonal squiggle lines for quilting. I tried out King Tut thread for this quilt, which I’ve never used before and I liked it.

I’m looking forward to using this quilt when the long MN winter comes. Perhaps it will help me feel like it’s still summer . . . at least under this quilt.
