My mother-in-law loves art. When I saw Alexander Henry’s Joy of Life fabric (inspired by the work of Henri Matisse) I new I had to use that for a Christmas gift for her. But what????…… Well she also loves aprons. She always seems to be wearing one when entertaining or cooking. They are very functional, comfortable, but why can’t they be a work of art too??
So I give you the Joy of Life Apron.
The tutorial I used is from Ink and Spindle and can be found here. I love the large pocket in the front
and the adjustable neck strap – so it will fit perfectly.
It’s also fully lined so it was really quick to sew.
I’m sure it will brighten up her kitchen!
Very cute and cheerful. A great way to start the new year in the kitchen.
Love the material and also love reading your blog. Happy 2011.
