Last weekend I had the pleasure of going on a little road trip to Michigan with my family. We had lots of fun and on our way we stopped at Leinenkugels for the factory tour. I must say it was very interesting even as a non-beer drinker (insert gasp of shock here). My son walked out of the bottling room (which is fully automated) and said “I have so many new ideas for my lemonade machine!”.
So much of the trip was just getting there. We made a lot of stops and turned a six hour drive into an all day one, but it was so fun. There was so much beautiful scenery!
Lot’s and lots of corn fields
Fields of sunflowers
When we got to Michigan, we went to our family reunion.
We also went to the beach a couple of times. The kids loved it!!
We also tried to fly a kite, but the wind wasn’t cooperating.
The kids seemed to be distracted by the water and the sand, so they didn’t seem to mind.
On our way back we stopped at two wineries. The first was surrounded by corn fields and apple orchards. All the grapes they use are brought in, but they also make amazing wine from apples and berries. The second grew it’s own grapes there. What beautiful views!
