After I designed the Infatuation quilt pattern but before I made the large quilt and I broke into the Dowry fat quarter bundle, I decided to test the block to see if I liked it once made or to see if I wanted to make any changes to the design.
This is what I made.
The block was made with fat quarters of some Riley Blake and RJR fabrics. The gray (I believe) is Kona coal. I liked the block when I was done so I continued on with the queen size quilt made from Dowry. You can see that finished quilt here.
For this block I added a 6″ border around of the same color Kona. It was a different dye lot though, so the shade is slightly different. This creates a very subtle effect of framing the block. I love it!
The quilting is simple straight lines 1/2″ apart.
The final quilt finishes 36.25″ x 36.25″.
On the back, a single piece of Kona Peridot. Love that color!
The binding is the numbers print from Ikea. (You know the one!). I love how it looks, especially on the back.
