I had this idea to do a version of my Infatuation quilt shades of blue. I wondered if I could do it while changing the focus of the blocks from the center to the corners and I think it worked.
I used 12 shades of blue Kona fabric starting with the lightest of my choice (Lake) to the darkest on the binding (Nightfall).
I had a lot of fun with the quilting too. Each section had it’s own quilting design and it was more dense than I usually quilt it, but I really like it. I matched blue Aurifil threads (what I had in my stash) to the shade of blue fabric as best I could and quilted each section with a matching color. I used the colors 2715, 2725, 2810, 2785 for the blues and 2021 (natural) for the white fabric.

The back was also fun. I decided to use up a couple of jelly rolls I had that I picked up many, many years ago at JoAnns. It was one of those – “I have no idea why I purchased that fabric” purchases and the fabric has been sitting unused for a long time. In an effort to use up my stash, I used it on the back, and I have to say, I like it for a fun back – but I’m also glad to have used almost all of it up!
Since they were small jelly roll bundles, I didn’t quite have enough, but I had a 1/2 yard of matching fabric to fill in the top section.
