I love sewing something useful as well as pretty. The last quilting retreat I went on, I sewed up a thread catcher with some fun kona solids and essex. It wasn’t until recently that I finally finished it with the hand stitched x’s on top.
The thread catcher is the perfect size to sit at my table while I am stitching on my machine but it is also perfect to take with while I hand stitch anywhere! I can stay organized (which I love) and put all my threads and clippings in there.
The thread catcher sewed up very quickly (even with making all the HSTs). My favorite part is the hand stitching details. The pattern used a running stitch, but I replaced it with little organic x’s.
Details:
- Pattern: Thread Catcher by Crazy Mom Quilts
- Fabric: Kona Cotton (various colors), Essex in black
This is the prettiest thread catcher I’ve ever seen!
